    What a platform stack is

    When the software is many parts that must match, such as a Kubernetes cluster that runs virtual machines, we build the matched set as a platform stack: every part built with the network off from pinned upstream source and packages, signed, installable with no internet from a local registry, and tested together across several machines.

    What ReadyStack is

    The free Docker Hub image is the clean-room build of a release. Each release's grade, the date it was graded and why, and whether it is signed, runs as non-root and carries attestations are shown on its product page, as measured; they are not the same for every release. The ReadyStack Hermetic Build Kit is a separate thing: it does not contain that published image (it does contain the pinned base images) — it is the complete build kit to recreate the clean-room image yourself, fully offline (vendored source or upstream's release artifacts, dependencies, base images, and a --network=none Dockerfile), together with full documentation, seed data, test suites, defect reports and provenance records. We do not develop the underlying software — we build, verify, and document it.

    Open source software is never considered complete. Our Hermetic Build Kits reflect a specific version at a specific point in time and are not finished products.

    What you get

    You do not get a software license. The underlying software is open source and licensed under its own respective terms.

    No warranty

    All features tested are documented in the release notes. We make no guarantee of functionality beyond what is explicitly documented there. Hermetic Build Kits are provided "as-is", without warranty of any kind.

    Free downloads and donations

    A build kit is free to download with a verified email. It also comes with a card donation, of the amount shown on this page at the time (it may change), or with a crypto donation of any amount, claimed once with its transaction id. Card donations are non-refundable and crypto donations are final. ReadyStack is not a charity, and donations are not tax-deductible.
